A belt is a flexible band, typically made of leather or heavy cloth, and worn around the waist. A belt supports trousers or other articles of clothing, and it serves for style and decoration.

The suspenders are fashion accessories whose original purpose was to maintain the trousers. In this case, they are traditionally elastic cross in the back and reserved to men. Sometimes they are directly attached to the trousers by a button, but it is more common that they are removable through a system of pliers. They were used as ancillary by punks who wore them attached (front and back) but left them hangging on the buttock rather than on the shoulders.
